Japan

This will be a site about Japan ^^ Have fun getting smarter ;)

Japan is an island nation in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean. The characters that make up Japan's name mean "sun-origin", which is why Japan is often referred to as the "Land of the Rising Sun". Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which together comprise about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Due to its location in the Pacific Ring of Fire, Japan is substantially prone to earthquakes and tsunami, having the highest natural disaster risk in the developed world.[10] Japan has the world's tenth-largest population, with over 126 million people.

There are so many things to write about Japan... I don't where to start.. 

I will just to a list with facts that just come up in my mind XD 

Ümmi's Japan-facts-list: 

•  the main religions are shinto and buddhism 

•  they use chopsticks in Japan

•  there are these really cool photo boxes in which you can make "purikura" 

•  in Tokyo live more people than in Switzerland ^^

•  the official language of Japan is Japanese :P

•  my name in Japanese is ユミ(yumi) ^^

•  traditionally Japanese people sleep on "futon" 

•  You won't find so many foreigners in Japan (except in big city probably)

•  you can't blow your nose in public

•  the trains in Japan are really really on time

•  Japanese isn't easy at all to study ;) 

•  Japanese people are really nice and respectful in general 

•  the money in Japan is called "en" 円 :D

•  Anime and Manga are really famous in Japan and were invented there 

•  almost every school has a school uniform (mine too XD)
